thanks for that info and i can definatly handle the beer part. I have the multi meter i bought at homedepot for like $70 so i will try to get that tested this weekend when i change the fuel filter and clean the egr valve. Hopefully it dont take to long cuz leaving the wife home with twin newborns while im drinkin and workin on my truck will lead to a very long arguement. haha o well its worth it.

haha awesome. The FICM testing will be quick and easy... the EGR valve could go either way... I couldn't even get mine out of my factory intake manifold man... some are a PITA, others slide right out.

ok so i changed the the fuel filters yesterday the one on the frame wasnt bad but the one under the hood was pretty dirty and it was a napa gold. So now they are both new motorcraft filters. I also was able to pull the EGR valve and clean it although it as well wasnt very dirty. I wasnt able to check the ficm because i didnt have anybody around that could turn the key for me so thats my next step. If its bad what are my options i was looking on ebay and found a refurbished ficm for $295, if i have to go that route are they hard to replace or is it a pretty simple unplug one and plug in the new one. Also with the white smoke and the bogging until engine gets up to temp is that just part of owning a 6.0 or is that something that can actually be fixed. If i dont have to spend the money on a ficm im going to buy a sct fx3 tuner and an egr delete kit but how hard is the delete kit to install? Thanks guys you have been a great help so far keep it coming.

That white smoke is not part of owning a 6.0 no haha, though I'm sure some 6.0 owners assume it is.

I'm sending you a PM with some info about FICM options.
