Like mdub said get an oil analysis bottle for 30$ and send it,awsy before tearing apart and making assumptions, I get my truck done few times a year to keep an eye on things or anytime I have trubke with truck sample bottle first thing I grab! You can send away coolant too
Good luck with everything im in the middle of scary expensive worm hole myself, I feel for ya

Most likely the EGR cooler ruptured, which was more than likely caused by a clogged oil cooler. I'd recommend an oil cooler rebuild (parts are ~ $230), and an EGR delete.

would it be better to just replace the oil cooler? and should i go with an egr delete or a bullet proof egr cooler?

No point in replacing the cooler. The rebuild kit comes with the new "cooler" section, just not the housing it sits in. Just do the rebuild.

As for EGR cooler, that's your call.

Any CAT dealer has the bottles, about 30 to 40$ and that includes postage, take lid off and inside is smaller bottle that you put the oil in. alsi inside is small info paper that u fill out, on it is truck make, engine type, miles on motor, type of oil and how much milage on the oil. Also place to fill out your email on it.
Take sample fill out form, drop off at post office and they will emaik you the resukts in 7 tk 10 days
