Turbo hose blows off

When my tubes were blowing off, just before they did so, I could spin the clamp spring with my fingers. If, after it's tight, you can spin the spring with your fingers, it's not tight enough to begin with. If the nut on the clamp is backing off you should be able to see this happening, by stopping every mile and attempting to spin the spring.

Take the CAC tube off the truck, and the end that is blowing off... have someone weld a bead all the way around the pipe to effectively make a "raised edge" there... then reinstall. You know I bought the brace for the cac hose, after I paid for it their number came up, I called the shop. Talked to the owner and asked him about it. He told me that he was having the same issue when he was towing, and after a few times Ford bought it back from him! Thats what he told me anyways. (says he got a 6.4, and hates the gas mileage) The brace seems like it might work at keeping the hose in place, but not sure about the hose slipping. one good thing I see is if it does slip I wont lose 100% of my power any more, because the cac hose hasn't moved. only the boot will slip, I'll still get some boost thru there. I'll probally do the bead too, anything will help at this point.

Also after having my manifolds changed out to fix my exhaust in the cab, I still get exhaust in the cab! Ever hear of this, mainly when I have the defrost on. Think there is a way to maybe extend the intake to the fan to the front of the truck? I'm not sure how that stuff works, just hate making my kids pass out any time it gets cold in the truck.

The shop couldn't tell me why it happens either. But it was pretty pathetic, they wouldn't admit they didn't know. Kept telling me it was the oil, or vibration, or heat. Everything they told me I countered with, so does every other truck. They had no clue. But I got the brace that attaches from the alternator to the cac tube. now at the most I might get some blow by under the clamps, but that hose isn't moving now.

The guy who designed the brace told me he was having the same problem, and ford ended up buying his truck back. Go figure.

It's still not right if you're having blow by. That brace should not be needed. I'd think a good set of dieselsite boots and those dieselsite rings would cure this. I take it you also didn't get a bead welded on the oustside either? This seems like such a simple issue, can't believe it's given so many headaches!

We clean off the surface with carb cleaner. Apply a coating of black silicone adhesive. Put it together and wait 24 hours before driving/ 48 hours before towing. Make sure clamps are at least torqued to specs. They will come off later but they have to be cut off. Now a 100 percent but has worked very good so far. Also make sure U use the new and updated tubes. How we do it.
