I second the oil bypass system, I use the Amsoil setup and I run my oil for 25k then change it even if the test comes back OK, which it always does, been doing that for last 200k, got 250k on the truck now, stock head bolts, stock coolant, maybe added a quart sinse I bought the truck in october of 03

Default Thanks Guys!

Thanks For all the input and info! I really appreciate that! I will start ordering parts as soon as possible. As for oil right now i have Rottella oil in it with a Motorcraft filter. Do you recomend synthetic or conventional? On my 7.3 i have ran Mobil Delvac 15w40 coventional oil and a motorcraft filter and changed it between 3k and 4k every time.
I'll keep you guys posted!
Anyone have an issue with their heater doors not switching and being stuck on defrost? I'm leaning towards the electric vaccuum pump? Auto hubs do not work either which is leading me to that.

Does it only go to defrost when in 4wd, classic sighn of vaccum leak dealing with the 4wd system, if it does it all the time then yeah, maybe the pump itself, with the truck on you can pull a line off the pump to see if it is working.

Check your lines to your hubs they go bad and dry rot... If your heater goes to defrost when you put it in 4x4 with auto they either bad line or oring in the auto hub is bad... I just had to replace mine... Get a vaccume pressure tester and check each hub to see if it holds like I think it's 15 psi... If it doesn't then its a bad oring... If it does hold then check your vaccume lines.
I think the orings were like $11.00 for both sides

Oh yea check your pump first duh!!!

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the info. The dash goes to defrost all the time, regardless of 2x4 or 4x4. Auto hubs dont work either, i guess i better check power to the vacuum pump. Any idea how much vacuum the pump should pull?
Dave

DieselConstruction- Thanks for the comment. I'm really liking the new Western Pro-Plus MVP 9.5 plow, I had a 05 model MVP 8.5 on my 04 250 and 99 350 and the new hyrdro system is much faster, and the control is much easier to use, clearing a 9.5 foot path is sweet too. I'm 24 now and started with a full hydraulic fisher when i was 16 so it's quite a dif....
Thanks again.
