And the hunt continues
I was wondering if anyone in or around CA has a cat that they are willing to part with. I am willing to travel a few hundred miles if need-be (Red Bluff, CA/Reno, NV/Las Vegas, NV/Tuscon, AZ). Preferable not gutted, and it doesn't matter if it is just the cat with no piping, at most I will only need an inch where it meets the stock size of the pipe. Reason I prefer that it not be gutted is even though I have the eco tune on the SCT so that it won't so much as hint smoke if you tried to, but it'll be rather obvious that the cat is hallow with how much turbo whine will be coming through.

I had a used transfer case shipped from the People's Republic of Kalifornia, I'd give it a wipe down and ship it. Its not like you're shipping HAZMAT or a democrat to CA.

Need to pass smog inspection, but if I have a gutted cat, then the noise level will be high enough that they will know it's hallow.

Technically it's an illegal purchase if you buy a catalytic converter from anywhere other than an authorized dealer, can't even buy one at a junk yard, every car at the scrap heap has it cut out when it comes in. Even distributors like JEG'S and Summit won't sell a cat to someone in CA.

I think I've got one lined up though.
