My guess is his issue isn't a FICM, since it's the two back injectors on each bank. 1st diesel had actually sent me a PM last night and I always respond to PM's first before checking the forums so I already answered his questions, but I'll re-post it here for everyone else.

I wouldn't run anything but Ford injectors. Other remans are typically crap. Alliant rebuilds Ford's for them. When you go "bigger", the guys who build them are going to tell you to go buy 8 new Ford injectors, then send them to them to be built to bigger sticks. So either way you have to get new. I like to run Rotella T or Mystick Oil. So far mystick my favorite I actually gained a Mile to the gallon with it haha. Also dont run fram filters, Napa gold or baldwins are good. I live Near Alamosa, Co So if you come thru the valley feel free to say hi. Now my 6.0L just wished we had the time to put her down but we cant, Its my grandfathers daily driver and my cummins my daily driver. Untill she breaks down again I wont be wokrin on it.

I would however NOT run the other filters you've suggested. OEM or FRAM only. There have been way too many issues with oil filters on these trucks, especially those that have their own caps. Some don't even depress the button in the bottom and starve the engine for oil. Just FYI.
You keep running around the 6.0 section telling us how big of a piece of junk this 6.0 is that you guys own, but you also follow it up with "We're gonna keep working it til it dies"... so it sounds like it's still getting the job done, despite a clear disregard about it's well being. What a terrible truck huh?

Sorry to hijack but today I noticed smoke at WOT from a stop my truck has been acting funny too the mpg on the over head is 10.2 it feels like I'm pulling a house when its in first gear under WOT but then after it shifts into second its like the chain pulling the house broke and it takes off like a jet. The truck has 92k miles and I haven't check the ficm yet but does this sound like an ficm problem or does the smoke suggest something else im in southern ca so at night its been in the 50-60 deg range not too cold. When it smoked it seemed like it smoked all the way through first gear I couldn't tell if the smoke was black or blueish though and it was the first time I noticed it. Also forgot to add the truck was up to normal temp when it did the smoke which scares the hell out of me

So what would cause that? Also I floored the dog **** out of it to make smoke about an hour ago (5:30am) on my way home and I got no smoke how ever i did get a red light ticket cause I stopped over the cross walk.... Man I hate california... Emisions are strict economy sucks $1400 a mo for a 750 square foot apartment dmv fees through the roof and red light cameras at every light so the tax payers dollars can go to something like a high speed bullet train project instead of the police... God I gotta get out of here sorry for the off topic rant but I'm pissed I mean I stopped completely my front tires were just in the cross walk and for that its gonna cost me $600... God ca sucks

What causes it? Long idle times and driving like a grandma. Also the truck sitting for long times without being run. It's either rusted up and not sliding smooth, or gummed up with crap (soot). There is a detailed write up on how to clean it. You can find it here:

Reason I said Baldwins or Napa, or like 03 said OEM. Is because my uncle did the Cross over for fram with another company dont know the name. All he told me was that we might as well use cardboard than a fram. Thats my two cents. 03, and Mdub know the 6.0 Ford a hell of a lot better than I do. I can just do the basics with em. Im on here trying to learn what I can about em. So one day Ill be there. I work on Cummins A LOT, john deere's, cases ect so thats where Im at with em. So if you dont mind 03, and Mdub you be seein me around on the 6.0L section Ill keep a sock in it deal.
