Default Temp Questions

Finally made it home to install some of my new mods. Put the Air dog 2 on the truck pretty easy install. Works like a champ quiet. Put the sct livewire on it and runs great. Started monitoring my temps with the hypertech programmer and my engine oil temp is getting to about 240 F and my coolant temp is staying between 190 and 200. Is this normal or is something not working right? I thought i read that they shouldnt be more than 15 degrees apart. thanks

If you still have a oil cooler ,it sounds like it is pluged up real bad. You are runing the same delta,s that I was lat summer and when I changed it I could not believe how much crap was in it. So change it as soon as possible before it ruptures if it has not all ready. While your in there do a EGR delete also along with a flush and get the gold crap out of there and then put a coolent filter on it, then a lot of your trouble will be over, but fix itbefore the EGR fails or you will have a whole world of trouble and very expensive.

What's with the hypertech? Why do you even have it when you have the livewire?

smoke eater - check out his profile, he's already got a coolant filter. I "thought" he already had an EGR delete too, but if not, that should be on the list to do as well when swapping the oil cooler.

You can get the oil cooler rebuild kit for about $213 from Tousley.com

ha yea egr is deleted already so thats gone. It hasnt ruptured yet cause no oil in my coolant or anywhere else. ordered a whole new one from mkm customs for around 300. and the hypertech seems to have more available gauges on it than the livewire unless im mixing something on the livewire. im also going to do the flush when i get home. thanks for the quick replies

No worries man! You're not ruffling any feathers, don't worry about it.

What hypertech has more gauges? Any gauge/pod setup that plugs into the OBD port should be able to read the same functions. Livewire you should be able to do fuel pressure and EGT's with the add-on probes for those as well. I don't know anyone using any hypertech product for gauges. A lot of guys are using the Edge CTS for a monitor now too.

well the hypertech one is bigger screen and shows 8 gauges at once. but i want to say the livewire didnt have 1 or 2 of the gauges that the hypertech hyperpac has or i couldnt read all that i wanted to with it. and only reason im using it is because i already have it
