Default Tuners/Programmers

It seems that SCT or Edge are the top choice for tuners.

If you owned a 06 6.0 PSD which tuner brand and model would you buy and why?

Edge is a top choice for gauges, not for tuners. SCT or nothing. Custom tunes are what will save your transmission as well as make the power safely. There is TONS of info about SCT's on this site, just do some searching, you will find the answers you're looking for.

I thought my Edge was the shiz nit until it tried to rip my TorqShift out! It would hang up my 3-5 shift while maintaining RPM resulting in a very harsh slam shift. Then it surged finding overdrive. I even bought a reman'd "valve body" before I figured out that what I really needed was to unplug BOTH batteries and NEVER run the Edge again. To make matters worse, Edge was more concerned with making me upgrade to a CS/CTS than servicing the "old" (2006) Juice Attitude Platinum that I had. For a manual trans, Edge is an ok trade off for power if you want the gauges. Although I believe they are on crack asking $600 for a CTS MONITOR!

At any rate, I am now on SCT, the Aggressive Street from Innovative is what the Hot Unlock from Edge felt like. Xtreme Race doesn't smoke as much as Edge Hot and makes LOADS more power. When you select firmer shifts with SCT, that's EXACTLY what you get. Edge didn't do anything for the trans.

Buy whatever gauges, or OBDII gauge monitor you like, then buy an SCT programmer.
