I wouldn't be putting any of that stuff in anyways, it's not really going to do anything.

If anything got in to your injectors, they'd be trash and the truck would run like garbage. There are over 75 moving parts inside a powerstroke injector. A single piece of sand would cause one to not function properly, so think about that for a minute. I've heard of lint from a rag causing the injector to not function properly.

If you want to run an additive, just get a fuel additive, there are many choices. I prefer Opti-lube products.

You can also run an oil additive (injectors are fired off of our oil!) that will help. Rev-X is the best hands down in that spectrum.

A couple of posts discussed adding 2 cycle oil to the fuel. Is that to give it better lubricating properties for the injectors?

Yes. Some people use it. Opti-lube has been proven to be more effective than 2 stroke oil.

So opti-lube and rev-x ok ill pick some up in the morning. I pulled the egr today it wasn't worthy of taking pics though I think it was new because there was barely any carbon on it I mean it wasn't shiny by no means but not enough build up to raise an eyebrow

Truck is at the shop though... Idk what's wrong with it after I cleaned the egr I fired an air hose into the cavity to blow any chunks out installed the egr and it fired right up. On my way to work I floored it a few times and screwed with the exhaust break to see if it had anything to do with my truck feeling slow as if I was pulling a boat or something. Go to the gas station get back in the car and no start. It would crank and crank but nothing so i scanned the ecu Got a p2290 but I had that before tried starting a few more times and nothing called for a tow truck and after tried starting again and it fired right up. So I dropped it off at the stealership and we will see what happens tomorrow

In regards to the two stroke oil though how much do you add per gallon of fuel and also is there a recomended 2 cycle oil to use or not to use for instance should i just go to wallmart and just get the cheapest or go to a dirt bike place and get like castor 927 or a synthetic motul?

I had the exact same thing with my 06 6.0 PSD. I cranked and cranked no start. Towed it to the dealership - unhooked it from the wrecker and it started right up.

Tech ran a scan and told me it was the IPR. He told me if it happened again just to unplug it and let it set a few minutes to reset itself. Haven't had the problem since so I haven't had the need to check out his solution.

The 2290 code is for ICP too low. You can unplug the ICP sensor next time and try starting the truck. It will start and idle as the PCM will default to some "standard setting" and let the truck fire. If it does, you know the ICP sensor is bad. Unfortunately for you 03/04 guys, that sensor is back behind the turbo. Us 04.5+ guys it's in the passenger side valve cover.

Dealership on the print out it says "pinpoint test high pressure oil pump failure." Could an oil change with rotella t5 help as a bandaid for a little bit like a mo. And could all the problems stared cause my truck to feel under powered?
