Well I'm gonna get the 2003 king ranch as originally planned my bank has a warenty thing where for 600 more the trucks engine turbo tranny and front/rear end will be fully covered so what ill do is just find a shop that is willing to do a little crooked work work when the problem arises and tell them to put the desired part on i dont know what this forums rules are with posting pics but ill get some up as soon as I can once its in my drive way. And by the way being as I'm a first time diesel owner expect a ton of questions ie. Fuel additives, winter vs summer diesel fuel and a few "how to do" in between . Again thank you all you have been a ton of help thank you

Wow... beautiful truck man.

To get the pics to come up full size, you're going to have to host them on photobucket.com first. Then just copy and paste the link here.

As for the CPS... they rarely go bad on these trucks, usually that and the camshaft position sensor codes are falsely thrown when the truck is cranked a lot and not started. Tough to say. I'd try clearing it first, and see if it comes back. The 10mpg sounds off though... how are the batteries? I would load test the batteries and then test the FICM.

the batteries look new but so does the whole engine. correct me if im wrong but to do a load test you hook up a volt meter to the battery check how many volts while off and then check how many volts while running i forget how many volts im supposed to check for its like 12. - 14 right? also i was reading that people recommend unplugging the egr now what are the brief pros and cons to doing that? better mpg or worse and what is its neg effect on the engine? i have a ton of questions like what the function is to the valve on the fuel filter and a ton of other ones should i open a new thread with all my questions? or just keep them in here thanks guys you have been awesome

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

for the crankshaft position sensor should i clear the code with my OBD scanner and see if it comes back? and how do i clean it? take it out and use some carb cleaner?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

i just got a code for fuel circuit valve or injector circuit valve something of that nature?
