Yeah bud, those cracks are not normal, they are on the spreader bar that sits on top of the valves then the rocker presses down on those to actuate the valves.. replace those, I could see a piece of that cracking off and getting to the oil pump/not good, make sure none are broken and if they are make sure you find all the pieces

are they only on the intake side or are they bad on the exhaust side too, just courios

i am trying to blow these pics up so you can see them better , as Bob said they are on the spreader bar heads not the rocker arms , its the piece that pushes down on the actual valve spring what my head guy calls the dog bone piece , if its not normal what in the heck would of caused it ?

maybe valves are sticking and one valve is opening and bar is getting pinched on top of valve head causing the crack?? look inside and see if you can see where or if it was rubbing hard on the inside of the "dogbone",, I have a motor here that was not assembled right after a head gasket install, pushrod wasn't lined up, anyway the valve hit the piston and it broke the rocker arm but the dogbone was not damaged, kind of shows the force it takes to hurt them

Am trying to blow these up and add a pointer so you can see better , as i said im no expert but i think Bob may be correct , valve guides and pushrods maybe sticking. regardless entire heads are being rebuilt and i am sure they will check all that and replace if necessary~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~If ya click on the pics then look at the pieces with the stamped number [left one has a 605 on it] thats the piece i am talking about, the dog bone or tappet or spreader bar is prob the correct term for them

I see where you're talking about now, pretty sure they all just look like that even new. I don't think it's cracked there. It's in compression, that crack wouldn't come from that anyways. It's probably a rough cast piece, then the top and bottom of it machined and what you see is just left over from the rough cast.

Well I hope your right Mike, it could be from casting, and strange that they would crack like that or there if there was a prob, and I would think any abnormality would cause a vertical not horizontal crack. just that I been through so much with this 6.0 that I'm at the point of fubar confusion!!!!
