i bought it from a friend of a friends brother.... it has 2 custom tunes on it. how well they are written i am not sure. the first says mpg. please, and the second is brants race tune. the mpg. please runs and shifts good little smoke. but the race tune puts down more smoke but shifts real hard .... not a fan of the real hard shift. i just want to run the canned till i can find out who wrote these tunes. oh and i know the chip came off a 2006 6.0 ..

If you try updating the actual SCT programmer, then you better make sure you put your truck back to stock first, otherwise you're going to erase your stock tune, and it will need to be flashed by Ford.
Myself, I would download the liveload software, the newest version, right from their website, then go buy some tunes for YOUR truck. The canned tunes that are on there could be from a different vehicle, ie a mustang or focus or whatever.... I wouldn't even try using them. Just get new custom tunes.

What is it you think you need to "try" with the tune? It's a custom tune, so if you don't like it, they change it until you do, that's the beauty of it. You wont be disappointed.
Just because it was off the same year 6.0 doesn't mean squat, the strategies would have to match, which is pretty unlikely, and a lot of other things will change the tuning, such as tire size as well.

I bought three tunes from innovativ diesel. it cost 160 for 3, or 65 for one regular tune. I bought the aggresive tow, street, and extreme street. I run around on the extreme street. it does shift alittle hard, and if you flat foot it it will smoke alittle. I ran the street for a bit. it was more street friendly, didnt shift as hard, still good power
