6.0L died on me!
Hey guys I am long winded so sorry up fron, but if you have a 6.0 then read this. Mine just died on me and would turn over but not start. I tore the whole top of that motor looking for the culprit. What had happeded is that inside the ICP or whatever that dang one is that screws into the side of the HPOP actually had some rubber stuck inbetween the housing and the piston. These things are pressed together but do come apart with a wrench and channel locks. So I took it apart and that was the problem. But my buddy is a MAster tech on these engines on the fuel injection. We couldn't find any other problem, UNTIL! Wait for it.......I broke one of the white orings on the way back in the hole. we took it out and it had feul lovked the engine. So while I was that far into it I went ahead and put all new injectors in it. New ICP(?) valve, new EGR valve, etc.
OK, all this money later I have a little bit better gas mileage. I was getting 21 mpg down to 11 and now I don't know cause I haven't ran a tank out yet. But what I wanted to know from all you expewrts owners out there. With out buying anything aftermarket, because u know what I was getting before, how do I get back to the 21????? I don't see how I should need to buy anything it doesn't have on it now. It was getting it before and it should get it again. Just want all the imput I can get. Jackyabilene@aol.com

That would be the IPR on the back by the HPOP, ICP is on passenger side valve cover. Why did you replace all 8 injectors? Seems like someone likes taking your money.
So the truck runs ok now, but you get 11mpg and were getting 21mpg before? How are you measuring this? Hopefully not off the factory dash readout, cause that would be very wrong. Only 6.0 I've ever seen get 20ish was a 2x4 truck, running bigger injectors and a larger turbo. That was BABYING it.
I HIGHLY doubt it was ever getting 21mpg.

Like year of truck, how many miles, what mods on it now, what happened to cause all of this work, how is the truck used primarily yada yada yada... Welcome to the site!
