6.0 oil cooler

the all time sure way to tell that your oil cooler is blown. you WILL have oil in your coolant bottle. open it and if it looks like bp was there, it needs to be changed. dawn dish soap in the cooling system will get most of it out after you change the cooler. may have to do it a few times to ensure system is clean. i do about two to three of these a week

Yes, regardless of what you do now, you should definitely do some coolant system flushes. If you had any oil in the coolant system already, you should do a few flushes, then when you're ready to put just coolant in for the last time, replace all of the rubber hoses that come in contact with coolant. The oil will destroy them over time.

The oil cooler didn't leak coolant into the oil, I got a code [P012F-60-PCM] oil temp was too high, the question I have is when removing oil cooler, some coolant went down channel leading oil to the high pressure oil pump,I removed as much of the coolant possible with a vacuum parts cleaner, do you think there is any coolant remaining to cause damage to the pump?

Bought cooler from Ford & started changing it over, discovered the new cover was missing threads in one of the ports for brass check valve, went down there again same thing no threads, parts guy said I don't know whats going on, he calls one of the techs on his day off,he said just swap out the cooler & use old cover, Thanks For the Help.
