Bad ICP sensor more than likely. You have an 04 so it could be easy to change or a PITA. If it's a late build 04 that sensor is on top of the passenger side valve cover, if it's an early 04 it's on the back of the motor down behind the turbo.

Does the truck have issues starting? It could be a high pressure oil leak too... but I'd guess it's not based on the info given so far... Could also be an HPOP on it's way out.

You really need to get it hooked to a scanner though, you should watch Desired ICP and Actual ICP, if they're not matching up at all, HPOP is probably going...

Yeah - a P2290 code requires quite a bit of troubleshooting. It can be one of a number of things. IPR duty cycle is also an important parameter to watch. Ultimately it may require an air pressure test of the high pressure oil system (begin w/ the valve covers off).

Ouch dude... just dropped mine off Sunday for gaskets again!

If you're paying for it, get ARP's installed, and get the heads decked!!! Do it right, and make it the last time you have to do it!

Default ICP P2290

I have the same issue but if it was a blown gasket wouldn't the oil have changed color or my truck be blowing excessive or some smoke?
