So no one cares that none of these ELC cooalnts meet Ford's spec? They could void your warranty (if you had one) based on that alone...

im out of warranty so doesn't matter to me about warranty but if i still had a warranty i definitely would stick with the gold. i just feel the elc coolant will provide better protection and keep my engine cooler. (hopefully) i did find a place near houston to get it tested once i do get some miles on the new coolant and will let yall know the results.

k today i picked up 6 gallons of delo elc concentrate, i only need 3.5 but the only place i could find only sold it by the case, 31 gallons of distilled water 2 bottles of VC-9 and a bottle of restore. tomorrow if the rain stops im gonna flush fill and then install my sinister coolant filter. if i ever encounter a problem with the elc ill post back here and say i was wrong hahaha.

by the way... k on the sinister coolant filter they all come anodized blue right? i mean mines blue and every other one ive ever seen is blue. well back when i was a kid i had a goped and many of the parts came anodized and what my friends and i would do is soak the parts in grease lightning and the anodized finished would come right off and then use some wenolds polish and it would turn out looking like chrome. has any one seen this done yet? i was also thinking about painting it white and fill the letters in with the gold that comes on fords king ranch to match my truck. still dont knwo yet but it wont be blue for long

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

@jeffa: for some odd ball reason when i called chevron in Kentucky they said that the reason i cant find the nitrite free delo is because california laws doesnt permit the sale of it... makes absolutely no sense to me so i just went with the regular delo elc concentrate hopefully you have better luck at finding it by the gallon than i did i had no luck so i had to get a case of six WHICH WAS NOT CHEAP when my wife finds out how much my coolant was alone she is gonna do a back flip and then beat me like liza minnelli hahahaha

I'm in no way saying not to use the ELC, in all honest I will probably use it myself. I don't fore see you having issues, but I just think it's awfully suspicious that Ford spec'd the coolant they did... has to mean something.

Jeffa - why would you want the truck to run cooler? They're designed to run at a specific operating temp. Running cooler could cause performance issues. Don't forget too hot is bad, but too cold can be just as bad. We need heat for our engines to run, so it can be our friend.

Let us know how you make out with the flush!

I bought it at ryderfleetproducts.com had to register and then purchased them off the net. And mike i really meant just cooler than it is right now . i had a 40 degree delta difference didnt like that at all. im still learning from yall and it should keep the truck running for years to come. i hope the flush does what i need it too but wont know until prolly a few weeks cause after i flush it im tearing the engine apart for the heads before i fill in with the new coolant.
