If I were you I would look into a company named Mystic. There oil has the most zinc and boron additives in it. Those additives are the most important for anti-friction and longevity in your engine. I run Mystic j8 blend 15-w40 in my truck and love it. I used to run rotella but it has barely any additives in it and the analysis on my mystic came back way better. It can be purchased at Tractor Supply Co. or Orschlens, some Oriellys carry it. If they havent sold it all yet id reccomend you pick up some of that!

With the cold weather we seem to be having I am going to go to 5w/40 oil. I can not spend 10 bucks a quart. I have used Rotella and like the oil. Mobil ! changed the oil and we had hyd pumps failing at work. It was traced back to Mobil oil and we found out the oil was different. The company dropped Mobil ! and had oil made to there speck. I am a little afraid to mfg that change there product.

Here is the report on the Shell Rotella T 15W-40
Shell Rotella T 15W-40 CJ-4 VOA - Bob Is The Oil Guy
And here is the report I found on Mystik JT8 15W-40
virgin oil sample Mystik JT8 15W40 - Bob Is The Oil Guy
From what I understand, Zinc and Boron are the two most important chemicals to lubrication and longevity, and Phosphurus is the most important to cleaning? Mystik scored higher in all three so I decided to switch over!
Please feel free to correct me if I read something wrong, or don't know my elements! I'd rather look like an idiot and run the right oil!

I remember seeing a post on there where a gentleman had an analysis done at 7500 miles on the same oil I believe? in a 7.3 powerstroke. The only figure i remember from that is it still had 1063 in zinc after that kind of mileage. I cant seem to locate that post any longer but I will keep looking!

google (diesel oil foaming) And see articals about the effects of foaming oil on International engines. If you don't change oil at regular intervals it can make them run bad. It's caused by the air bubbles in the oil in the injector. It effects the discharge pressure therefore the spray pattern.
I had the address , but by the time I got to here I lost it.
