As for getting another tune I would in a heart beat if it would let me at least keep up to the speed limit.

What is the increase HP and TQ over stock that you have on your tune? What is the maximum HP & TQ for SCT that will yet be safe on the motor?
My x-street tune towes 7k pretty good LOL

The max HP you can run is a toss up. Some trucks can hold a race tune with no problem at all. Some lift a head with stock tuning. With that said, the most you can run is 150hp over stock

Innovative Diesel or Gearhead Automotive is what I run.

Hey Goose350

I did a bit of a Google Earth tour around where you are I think that if I lived in your area I would not be asking the question. Those hills look like speed bumps compared to the hills in my area. It just kills me when a guy in a Chev blows by me! I sent Matt an email at Gearhead so I will see what he has to say

I'm with these guys on the SCT. I ran Edge Juice for a while and there is no comparison between the two. SCT hands down.

A question about the oil temp. How high is it? I consulted a Ford diesel tech at the stealership when trying to decide the range on the oil temp gauge I purchased. He said a stock 6.0 should run oil temps of ~180F@idle and ~210F when running unloaded. When you consider that the truck was built to haul, I wouldnt think a warning would be warranted at 240. Just wondering, for my own sake, how you decided what temp was too high.

The aggressive tow tune is rated to tow up to the max GVWR of the truck. It is made for towing really heavy. You can use Innovatives Street tune to tow up to 10k lbs safely, so they say. I am not a fan of towing big loads with the hot tunes at all, just too easy to get hot. I have towed the camper with the extreme street a handful of times just transferring it from where I store it to the house (about 5 miles). It's pretty fun getting that much weight moving that fast haha.

The aggressive tow, I was told is close to +70rwhp. You can not just look at the numbers though, there is a lot of variables that go into how the truck will drive. The numbers you have for your Edge are way off too. They will not match an SCT no matter what. Even if they could, the transmission would go to crap in a hurry.

You need to realize you're driving an 8klb vehicle towing another 10klbs, you're not really supposed to be racing people here!

Also the hottest custom tunes you can get for an SCT will still be safer than lower power levels on an Edge.

Custom tuning > all.

Stevo have your oil temps been hitting 250*?????? If so you HAVE to address that before anything, i Don't think oil temps should be above 220*? maybe i'm wrong here but i've NEVER seen anywhere near 250*

250 definitely sounds a little toasty. I hope that's not the case... The Edge's are programmable last I knew, so he can set it where ever he wants to have an alarm go off.

Yes but also in his post he stated the alarm was set at 250* correct? well in his earlier post he also stated the warning was flashing which means his oil temp had to of been over 250*. Correct?

The time to start worrying is when the fan comes on which is at 225*. The only problem with this is that is ECT. If the oil cooler is clogged he could easily see a 50* difference (ask me how I know LOL)

Thats why I asked what is ECT were, but I never got a answer.
