Ok now I feel sort of stupid. I pulled the HPOP out myself this time( another teck did the check apparently before I got put on the thing). It has a small piece of the screen missing. When I pop the screen off I can see the peice stuck in the regulator. Should I just throw another one on it or are there tests I can do with it out?

Personally I would put a new one in, I wouldn't risk putting it all back together and having it fail in another 1000 miles or something. Just my thoughts on the subject. I know pump gears can get trashed pretty easily with some pretty mild debris.

Cool it started up and runs other than some lingering smoke and running a little rough for the fist few minuts likely from air in the fuel system. Just put a new one in it. 266 bucks Thanks Jegs you hit the nail right on the head.

Hey Jegs thanks again! You wouldn't happen to know where I can get Durramax parts ie gaskits main and rod bearings by any chance?

So it was the HPOP then? Glad you got it fixed up. I've heard it can take quite a while to get all of the air out of the system, go out and run her pretty good.
