I guess with the 55+ psi there might be a concern, if the hose ruptured behind the gauge ... and what are the chances of that??? I've never heard anyone complain that this has happened to them. Of course the Cummins was running around 19 psi, but I never had any issues. Those isolators were known to go bad, so the consensus was to nix it and run straight to the gauge. Is there anyone running the gauge without an isolator?
