hard starter

Default hard starter

does anybody else have a hard starting PSD, mine knocks and almost has a lopey sound to it, it does for about 5 min and then after that it is fine

Load test your batteries and Test your FICM. Let me know the results

Fuel filters and oil change will help. I'd be money on glow plugs though, or glow plug harness. FICM and injectors also need to be tested. The problem with this is it's a simple problem, but it has a LOT of possible solutions.

thanks, and the oil and filter were changed about 1,000k ago

did you tryand plug it in at night to see if there is a difference

My truck does the same thing when not plugged in

mine didn't come with a plug in from the factory. and i will check the fuel filters

It might have it, you would have to get under the truck and look, they're usually zip-tied out of sight. If not, the block heater IS there, but the cord is not. Starting in 05 the cord became an option believe it or not. You can get them on ebay for around $20.

if i wanted it i had to make a speacial order, but ill look into the block heater cord, illl definetly need it for winter.
