Believe I fixed that sudden loss of power/ buck.. Being a new diesel owner I have read over alot of these threads.. Came across the EGR cleaning.. Bought my truck with 53k miles on it.. Now has 61k.. So decided Id check the EGR.. DAMN.. Never seen so much carbon in my life. After cleaning I noticed a much better running/ idle/ Smoother take off and a little more power.. So far no bucking either.. Wish I could just do the EGR delete kit. But we now have to smog diesel truck in Cali.. Do have it registered in old town I loved in so might be able to get away with it living in the city. Since I never had to have annual smogs on last truck or car while having them registered there.. We will see.. Next is looking at the ARP studs. RCD tuner .. I do have a 4 inch exhaust on the truck. Not sure if it is stock or nor. Since I seen on here that stock was 3.5?
BTW?? awesome site. Couldnt have found it at a better time. Going to refer my bro inlaw to this.. He has a 07 250 .

Had to wait till traffic died down to really be able to get on it.. DAMN what a difference a clean egr makes. No bucking and at 75mph I hit the gas to see what it would do.. it sucked my *** into the seat. haha. Guess that egr had been fouled since I bought the truck. Never had this much power when I first got it. Thanks everyone for responses and to other threads about the egr..

you could have got the speed sensor from napa for 28 bucks. Ford house are thieves and their warranty sucks. They'll keep you patched and out the door til it expires then and only then, you'll get the real scoop. Especially on the 6.0.

i had egr issues as well. but, it was only after i took it out and cleaned it. i strongly suggest when you take it out to clean it, replace the o-rings and the gasket. i didn't replace the gasket on mine and it leaked air and caused problems. i have my valve closed at this point and its unplugged. cel light is on but, in a couple days i'll have the delete kit installed and the stc x3 will be here to get rid of the cel light. as for the speedo issues, my speedo acts up too. once it told me i was going 40mph. i was in park! my fuel guage lies to me as well. i went into the store the other day for a minet, my truck was on half tank, i came back out and it was full! wtf? and yesterday i parked it at lunch got in it to go home at the end of the day and was completly empty! it had more than 1/4 tank at lunch. while i was driving it eventually came back to where it was at lunch. i dont know..wierd..

Yeah I always change the O ring during the egr clean. As for the guages mesing up. I believe I have found the issue with my truck. The fuse box thats on the drivers side fender well in the engine compartment. Check all the connections under and around that. For some reason I had a couple of the connections right under the fuse box that were a little loose. A simple check n push them either till a snap ( as one did snap) has seemed to fix all my dash guage problems. No more speedometer bouncing around, No more fuel guage telling me a different reading everytime I get in. No more odometer stopping. (DANG) LOL. Also I have had no problems with the turbo kicking in or the major lack of power. Only aslight lack of power right now as the EGR cooler is abit plugged. Have to take it in for new cooler. BUt going to ask ford to reimburse me for the Bullitproof cooler. Dont want no OEM cooler to touch my truck! So check those connections and snal fittings near the fuse box. Some may just need to be pushed together to make sure the connections inside are touching correctly or even possiby disconnect and clean.

Asking for money from Ford towards a bulletproof cooler? Yeah good luck with that.

NO kidden huh.. Just figured they should at least refund the difference. Say the OEM is about $290. The BulletProof is what? $375? So i should only have to pay $80 for parts and whatever labor is. But then again Labor is covered under the warranty still. They know what the ERG coolers do and that they tend to fail. Just figured that I could put something else in the exceeds the factory specs and they should honor that. BUt knowing ford they will think Im crazy or something. LOL

They will only put genuine Ford parts in! If you're lucky you can find a dealer cool enough to install it under warranty, but they certainly are not going to pay for the parts for you.

Kinda figured that Ford would only put Ford parts in it. Ill get ahold of a few Dealerships and see if any would put the Bullitproof in.. If they dont Ill jsut have them install the dang OEM one for now. Will be getting an extended warraty this month or next for the truck. But if its goes again I plan to do teh FUll Bullitproof egr kit with Oil cooler. Just gotta save up $2200 for that.
