murphy's law.... without the spit.
Hey guys. I started a thread on another forum about a week ago about problems I was having with my 2006 F350. At first I posted about a no start condition, which turned out to be a bad IPR valve. I took it to a private shop because the local dealerships where 1-2 weeks out. For $1900.00 I got a New IPR, new STC fitting, new lift pump, EGR block off, and oil and filter change. They also told me that my head gaskets are blown and quoted me 6-7K to fix them! I decided I would be better off taking it to ford and waiting the 1-2 weeks for them to work on it.
Well I really shot myself in the foot, because even though I told them the EGR was blocked off, they pulled it apart and ran to Ford with pictures and a "hey look what we found!". So Ford said NO warranty!
I asked them to fix the HGs anyway and put in ARP head studs, and that I would deal with Ford and the warranty later. They said OK and it would cost $3100.00. Today I get a call from the dealership and they told me that they cant "ethically repair the vehicle the way I'm asking them to do it, and that they would only return the truck to stock configuration, for $4500.00, or just put it back together for $325.00!
I am beyond pissed off right now! $325.00 just to confirm what I told them!?!
So I'm still stuck in Rapid City, and no closer to a fixed truck. I called my parents, and my dad said he's going to come get my freewheel and tow it back to Grand Junction. I will follow him in my truck, and try to limp it home.
Any advice, tips, or blessings?
