Default where do I find a HPOP stainless steel screen

OK so I've got everything together for the EGR delet project on my 04, BUT!!! I cannot locate the stainless steel screen for the HPOP from the oil filter/cooler. Ford says they don't have one, only the plastic one, Bullet proof only has the special one for their cooler relocation kit? and I can't see one in BD's line up? any thoughts or suppliers who would carry this last part of my puzzle. Also are there any suprises I'll find when I tear into this thing, any thing to watch out for, I'm assuming that all of the fastners are metric...no problem there..I'm in no hurry to finish this thing I'm giving my self a week of after work nights to do it I'm doing the EGR delete, new upgraded oil cooler, de-soot the turbo and intake, new belts and hoses, cooling system flush, fresh tranny fluid and filters, and an upgraded fuel pump pressure spring. that should be a good service for the summer.

Never heard of one? Did someone suggest one to you? Have you had issues with the stock plastic setup? I know there are 1000hp trucks running the stock plastic ones....

well are we talkin about the screen material or the border that holds the screen? I thought all of them were plastic border with stainless mesh screen?

the one that I saw was made from stainless frame and mesh. I've seen the plastic ones rip the mesh from the plastic frame. just wanted to remove a potential problem, I only want to do this project once thats why I've taken my time getting everything together for this, this being the third time it's been taken apart for EGR stuff I want to make sure it's the last....I hope. it looks pretty straight forward to do the EGR delete but I don't know if there are any tricks or things to watch out for when I do this... I can use the stock screen and probably sleep good at night.... but.. if I could find the steel screen I'd probably sleep better.. I plan on doing the lake powell thing a couple of times this summer, and it's a long haul from my home (about 750 miles one way) across the hot desert..so I'm being cautious and taking no chances. but like HEAVY ASSAULT said I too thought it was a ford upgrade?? no biggy I'll keep looking. thanks guys

I've only seen the Ford upgraded part 3C3Z-6C83-AB which is stainless mesh with a plastic edge. I haven't see one of these fail like the nylon screen stock version.

BPD

Bullet Proof shows it on their site. IIRC all of the Ford ones will be the new upgrade.

I have seen the new screen fail so its not a fix all but it is a improvement over the plastic screen

Thanks guys I just ordered it from BPD, it's abit cheaper then ford. I guess that was what I was looking at.??? I thought it had a metal frame as well. does any body have any suggestions for a home diagnostic scanning tool, I'm looking for a good used one that will cover 04 thru 07 on multiable brands, my 04 ford and my wifes 07 jeep. it seems that I can find scanning tools up to 05 coverage on ebay. I did find a new unit from SUN to cover what I'm looking for but it was a bit spendy? any suggestions would be great.

I have Auto Enginuity(sp) and it does the job. I'm not sure if I would buy it again though. Maybe its because i don't really know how to use it.

Are you able to trouble shoot codes on different vehicles and different years? also can you reset the computer (turn off the check engine light). nowadays you need some thing like this to even think about working on the computer controlled stuff. I've never heard of auto enginuity before? I guess there for diagnosing sensors thats all you need. I've never had any experiance with the scanners to trouble shoot so I don't know good from bad as far as they go, or what operations that they perform. any insite would be good.
