Default Newbie With a question

ok to later this year im gona be picking up a 05 excursion and im most likely going to put a rather large lift on it (around 14in) but i also want it to be a beast so my main question i sapose is if the engines got around 85k miles should i just build a second block and swap when its finished and just bog around town till i can finish the build or rebuild the motor and start moding that way? or will the rebuild not even be need'd? also ive used a diablo tuner on my mach1 was wondering if there good for the diesels or is there a much better one. also with upgrading the turbo/s what would be the best route and what supporting mods should i get right off the bat. and does anyone know how unreachable 6-700hp and around a 1000lbs is gona be? (the power is just because i wana say i got it and be able to prove it i dont see myself drag race'n a 14inch lifted SUV ) any input is welcome. be as harsh as you must to get your points across i got thick skin

as for mods to get to 600+hp its not unreachable its just gunna take some big bucks...first im gunna start with the basic mods to keep the truck healthy then ill get into what little i know about getting to 600+hp

keeping it alive
the 6.0 will blow EGRs and all that fun stuff
at the power lvls you want to go to you will destroy your head studs

so the first 2 things i would do if i where you would be to put a full egr delete on the truck.

second ull need head studs

now onto how to make 600 horseies and keep the truck outta the shop (im not the best at this by far but ill give u what little i do know)

transmission rebuild, turbo(s), injectors intercooler, programmer w custom tunes (every one brags on SCT but ive never used em so idk), intake, exhaust, fass, guages (EGT, trans temp, oil pressure, turbo pressure r some good ones)

those are gunna have to happen and then idk where that will put you but from there you may have to do a few of these

water/meth injection, upgraded HPOP, intake manifolds,

um theres more but my mind is out to lunch

I'm in san diego ca but id givem a call for the info then again nothin like a road trip does he do tunes aswell?

Also thanks for the advice on the egr and head studs but is the bottom end built to handle a bigger turbo and the hp trq lvls I'm looken for? For example I had to build the bottom end of my mach cuz it was all aluminum sorry just don't know much bout this block new to the diesel world

from what i know of the bottom of the block it can handle 500-600 with out alot of worry but at the same time it probly cant go much over that safely...like i said before im not the most tech savy guy on here but im sure there are some guys on here that would be able to tell you for sure if the block can or cant handle that much power

I think 600+ is safe on these bottom ends. Usually you only hear about windowed blocks from guys turning big RPM's with these motors. Like 5000ish.

The only problem you'll have is driveline damage from making that power with that big of a lift and tires.
