First, let me say that you either have big dreams or a MAJOR sponsor, this complete project is going to cost as much as some houses! Now, since you have been beaten pretty good about the power plant, I'll go into the suspension.
With a 14 inch lift the BEST thing to do is have the front diff rotated if you intend on ever using that front drive shaft. This entails cutting/pounding off the steering knuckles, rotating the axle, then welding the knuckles back on. It will have to be installed with a degree wedge of some sort on the driver's side. Otherwise you'll be spitting out U-joints and or front drive shafts like their cool. This is also a good time to put in a high steer knuckle and fab up some new brackets for the track arm. Better clock the rear diff, too. CHA-CHING!!!

Next, tires, I assume you're wanting to roll 44s. You're gonna need a minimum 5.29 gear to maintain the 3.73/31.5 performance of the OEM truck Gear Ratio Guide for Larger Tires CHA-CHING!

Also, unless you want the only suspension variable to be tire pressure, I'd recommend Pro-Comp front and rear leaf spring hanger brackets (about 3") an 8 inch spring and a 3 inch block out back. Up front, 3 or 5 inch front hangers and the rest with 11 or 9 inch springs respectively. CHA-CHING!!!

Finally, research restrictions for crankshaft heights, I don't think it's over 36 inches and that will keep you OFF any NHRA member track if you're over it. No timeslips for you

Default Thanks Karls03

Thanks Karls

And yes big dreams and I do have a sponsor for my cars havnt talked to them bout the truck don't want it to be plastered with names plan on it being "powered by MY engine". And thanks for the info on gears and yes u were right about the tire size and yes I would like to use my front axle so I will def add that to my list. At this point I'm lookin at around 15,800 in just under the hood mods not tranny an gears etc. On the suspension though I heard it would. Be better to delet the front leaf springs and go coils is that just for ride or should I keep the leafs for performance? And thanks to everyone again for the info keep it comin

That Truck Toyz Performance link had some pretty sic Super Duty stuff. Funny you should mention ditching the front leafs for coils, I saw a set up for an F250, so I suppose there is one for the Excursion also. Looked more like a suspension for Grave Digger.

I'd like to see your finished product.
