Default Torqshift Swap 4x4 Question

ok guys, im putting my buddys 5r110 torqshift tranny and transfer case behind my twin turbo cummins 12v motor in my dodge truck. my question is, how can i wire up the electric transfer case? im sure i could wire it. but i guess a better question is what should i do for a switch? buy a replacement one off ebay or something? and try mounting it in my truck? also, where is the controller located? doesnt the swtich run to a box in the fender or something then go to the transfer case?

any help is welcome!!

Diesel Power Mag did a Fummins recently and used a stand alone computer for the trans. I don't remember if it was the 4 speed or the TorqShift.

Better put some go fast parts in that trans before you stuff it in there or you're going to be taking it right back out. For that matter, I'd say skip the middle man and grab a built aftermarket TorqShift and converter. I'm thinkng that compound turbo Cummins is making a pound or two of torque.

see thats the thing. im just trading him my 5spd for it. this is not costing me a dime!!!! but to have my driveshafts cut and balanced thats it!!. it has a stand alone module already. he has a cummins in his ford. pcs is the name. it already has a suncoast tripple disk convertor. im calling brians truck shop today to see if i can drop a few parts in it. but they put these trannys behind the 6.4ls. my brothers buddy has a 6.4l, with a spartan tuner. and NOS. with a bone stock torqshift with a stock convertor. and it holds fine. im still calling bts. but if anyone has any imput on the 4 wheel drive its appreciated

did he have good luck with the pcs controller? They seem to be hit or miss on the ford trans.

I've been told the speedo and the ABS are in that wiring harness that goes to the top of the rear axle. I didn't see anything in the transfercase tail housing or the trans. I wouldn't be surprised if I missed it because it doesn't look like anything in my older rigs.

When you find it, let us know.

Transfer case should be able to be used with a simple switch. Just need to power the motor on the t-case. Look at the motor on the case now, how many wires are feeding the motor?

It may power the vacuum pump to actuate the hubs. The T-case should be able to be switched separate from that pump.
