Default No Power & Blue Smoke.... Please help!!

I have recently done a lot of work to my 04 6.0L (EGR delete, new oil cooler, new turbo, new rad, new water pump, BullyDog PMT & a K&N intake kit). I just fired it up yesterday & now I have no low end power (sputtering) & lots of blue smoke. Once I get it up to speed it seems to clear up a bit. But it's not the same as before.... I checked the throttle plate & It doesn't have one (manufactured 08/03). Can anyone point me in the right direction???

if there is blue smoke that usually means valve guide wear / oil seal worn on the guide....

obviously you can not take out a spark plug like a gas engine....

how many miles on the engine?

my service van number two plug was so oiled up it could not fire and it failed ommision tests....

i changed all the plugs and it passed.....

i also had blue smoke pouring out the exhaust...

Sounds turbo related. What kind of problems were you having in order to replace the turbo?

It's got 225,000 km's. I replaced the original turbo because all the vanes in the old one were seized & had worn grooves into the backing plate, plus the compressor fins had some serious wear (like it had been sand blasted). Does removing the EGR valve cause any problems for the ECM (false signals)?? I do agree with you that it's turbo related I just don't know if it's an electrical or mechanical problem. Is there a test Ford can do to see if the turbo is spooling up correctly?

Removing the egr will generate a code sometimes, but it wont keep your 6.0 from making power. I have a 03 f 550 and i didnt delite the egr because i live in california and i might have to hook it up again (Ca is nice but the emision laws are the shi#$). What i did is just unplug the egr and welded my egr valve shut. It made a world of difference, andit did not generate any codes. In your case i would inspect the turbo control valve & connections. Even the turbo. Did you inspect it before you installed it? I s there any way you can have a air restriction?

The sandblasted fins on the turbo are from the K&N... more than likely, if you've been running it for a while.

Blue is oil... could be a turbo seal. Is it a new turbo, or used?

Good way to test for boost is to watch the boost gauge... that should tell you whether or not it's spooling right?

Why was all of this work done anyways? Take the bullydog off, does it still run the same stock?
