Default 6.0 tranny issues

so today i was driving my brothers 06 6.0 and was doin 70 up a hill with no load...no problem for the 6.0...

well i set the cruise control at 70 and as i go up the hill i feel the tranny start poppin hard...if feels like its jumping in and out of overdrive but there is no rpm change up the hill...

at this point i was confused so i thought maybe its just the cruise control thats causing it so i took the next hill holding at 70 w/o the cruise on...and it did the same thing...according to the paperwork i found in the truck the trans fluid was changed at 89k and the trucks at 93k now so i dont think that would have anything to do with it...

any info or help would be amazing...

If the rpms didnt change, its probably not transmission related. It might of been surging.

I have noticed that the cruise control ins't the greatest on these trucks when going uphill. How does the truck drive uphill when not using cruise control?

When you use "pop" are you describing the shifting feel or an actual noise?

a shifting feel...it kinda feels like uve got a kid behind you kickin your seat
but over the engine noise at that speed i cant tell if there is any actual noise

Sounds like the way my 04 did, when pulling the travel trailer.

The AE program said it was the Fuel Injector Control Module code, but I had a wreck before I had a chance to replace FICM. My truck was totaled so will not be able to say for sure that was the problem.

Have it scanned for codes. If it is tranny maybe there will be a code.

Hope this helps,

Just my Thoughts,
Walt
