06 6.0 Rough Idle At Start

Yeah I have already tried the resoldering job as well as checked voltage. If it helps, this tid-bit of info might have contributed. I was at the beach prior to this problem, I was pulling a Dodge (tehe) out of the sand and I did get the truck up to a good RPM. After I left the beach that day, is when I threw the first DTC light. Not sure if the day at the beach was any contribution. I will trace my wiring harness and such this evening here at the station when I get some free time and the heat subsides a bit. Thanks again for the information. I am much appreciative!

Alright I am reading of all these per say "Joe Shmoe" guys that have their own repair shops for FICMs. What are they doing to refurbish these? I have already resoldered mine. I am about to pull my truck into my fire station bay here at work and take the FICM out and trace wires, etc to figure this out. I am determined to get my power back!

Vendors read here...
I honestly do not have any close friends with them to swap momentarily. Looks like I am selling my Corvette to fix the FICM (as well as other financial blunders). I already tried the solder job with no luck. None of the points appeared to be separated anyway but I attempted the job with no joy. Thank you for you suggestions and help from the get-go.

Any vendors want to help me out with deals???
"I have found my problem for my 2006 6.0L F250 to be the FICM. I am looking to buy a new FICM, not a fan of any low-ball home garage rebuilt.
Vendors... I also want to buy a 4" MBRP Turbo-back system (w nice 5" tip)
Anyone care to help me in combining a new FICM and exhaust system?
I currently run SCT flash Performance tune, Airaid high-flow intake w/ zoodad mod, stock exhaust with no muffler and gutted cat.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Any vendors with deals, I also race a super comp NHRA dragster here in the southern Division 4 and would love to place any sized decal on the car and trailer, even my truck.
Thank you,

You can not buy a new FICM to my knowledge. Even Ford sells remans. You can get one from Ford if you want, they're about $900. Swamps has some a little cheaper than that, they're just repaired OEM Ford units though. They do replace quite a few components on the board.
FWIW, there is no way you would visibly see anything wrong with the solder. What solder paste did you use? I usually do mine in a lab under a microscope with some really high end solder.
If you're still set on that FICM being dead, I'll buy it off of you.

I'm waiting to sell my Corvette to pay for the FICM to which I will not buy from Ford, I am close in decision with the quote I received from Swamps today, (Thank you whomever sent me the quote). I did receive a nice offer, but hopefully can have a couple of small additions to beat a competitor who has better pricing. I do not like the, per say - threat factor on the core charge and not reimbursing the full amount if the FICM has been soldered on. I know my work did not hamper or damage anything on the circuit board and as my money is in their hands, it's ultimately up to them how much I get back.
Whomever sent me the quote from Swamps, again, thank you and I will be in touch soon!
Still want a dual-wall polished 5" MBRP long exhaust tip on the 4" MBRP system I had quoted and a custom tune to load onto my SCT SF3 tuner.
One last Question: replacing the FICM with a 58v FICM, will my truck start quicker? It's always taken a few extra seconds of turning over before starting. Just curious. I was told the glow plugs were just fine so was hoping for all leads pointing to FICM. Testing volts again from dead cold start Friday am. I will let all know my final prognosis on FICM replacement and status.
Thank you for the responses.

I couldn't get my truck to shift worth a crap with her tunes. I know a lot of other guys have had great luck. I tried several to no avail. My buddy loved his looney tune he had on his 05, he liked it better than his Innovative tunes. Every tune I had from her I would load up and if I ever went WOT, it would run up normal and get to about 4k rpms and just hang there for seconds before finally shifting. Imagine running in 3rd gear at 4krpms for a few seconds... it was nerve racking. Unfortunately this was all happening as she was shifting from DJ's to her own QuickTrick, and it was taking her 2 weeks at a time to get back to me with any info, of which she could never tell me why her tunes made my truck shift funny and my other tunes did not. If I kept the tunes loaded up, they would eventually get better (I'm talking after driving like 5k miles....), but as often as I was switching tunes, it did me no good. Still have her street tune that I have daily drove in the past, and it was nice, I liked it, but again, same shifting issues if I tried racing anything.
I'll shoot you a PM about the FICM.
