2007 6.0 Performance and Mileage stuff
I really like my 07 F350 and the power is great. I just want to pump it up a little and increase the mileage of course. I don't want to get to radical as to have any head issues etc. I have been told about a package from a local dealer, and I just wanted a second oppinion. I have never used any of these items before. On my 2004 truck I had the Edge system and wasn't overly excited.
Quadzilla XZT, Diamond Eye 4" turbo back aluminized steel cat delete single exhaust, AFE Stage 2 dry cold air intake, and of course a piro gauge.
I've been told that with the system I can get 2 to 4 mpg better, better low end etc. I'm not looking to race the truck, just towing a 5th wheeler once in awhile and driving as a daily driver.
Is this a good moderate system? How does the compare to SCT?

What's the chance of that. I'd love to put studs in, but I've never heard of a dealer willing to do it, Especially if there is no problem showing. Show me a dealer willing to do it and I'll drive anywhere to get er done.
Thanks.

If you are willing to do it, I'd take a little vacation and drive out to Ontario. BTW, what are fire rings?
Thanks.

I'll do it, it's work.
How many miles on your truck?
Fire rings go around the cylinder. They require machine work and special gaskets, and they are fairly expensive to install.
I have seen a set of gaskets with apparently built in fire rings, but they only support 18mm dowel heads, which your truck may or may not have, and if your truck happens to need heads, the replacement heads are commonized 20mm dowels, so you're screwed again.
PM me the VIN.

That Donaldson filter will restrict the dirt and dust from getting to the turbo. The OEM filter flows plenty of air with reports of supporting up to 500HP at the rear wheels.
Just change out the OEM filter as needed keeping in mind the OEM interval. I usually change mine when the timing hits with other services say an oil change or when I swap out fuel and oil filters. If your driving has you in the dirt and dust for the majority of the time you should keep an eye on the filter minder. If you notice it moving then get a new filter when you have the time. There are two types out there one will have blue filter media and the other one will have white filter media. The blue media is synthetic and will not break down if water is sucked into the filter. The white version is cellouse that will after prolonged exposure to water will break down. They are both constructed the same way and will filter the same but the white one will not last as long as the blue when exposed to water (IE severe downpours, etc, etc..)
