jester296,
I have always looked for output of about 13.8 - 14 volts with the headlights on high beam with the engine running. You didn't give any info on the vehicle.
You have a Duramax in your sig but have this listed in the 6.0 Ford section.

I would check all of the connections first. Wiggle and twist all of the wires as you do a continuity check. You may have a broken or corroded wire.

I would bet the alternator is junk. I change quite a few of them.

Sorry it took so long but we finally got it in the shop and got it back. The glow plugs were staying on. Changed a sensor and all was fixed. As for the 4wd ? i posted before it was a vacuum switch that went bad changed it and everything is back to normal.
