Default 03 to 05 engine swap

Hey guys looking for a little advice and some help if possible. I have a 2003 F250 6.0L powerstroke with egr cooler problems. In my travels I got my hands on a 2005 6.0L Powerstroke with 25,000 miles on it for the right price. So while this new motor is on the stand I have ordered a head stud kit and an egr delete kit to be installed before it goes in the truck. My question is this. Is there any other mods that I should be considering doing before this motor goes in???? And are there any issues putting an 05 motor in a 03 chassis??? Any help would be great. I've just had this turck a short while and have had a few nightmares but i'm not ready to give up on her. I'm not looking to make a super truck I'm just looking to make my truck dependable and able to pull my camper trailer (9,000lbs). Thanks guys.

if you pull the heads go ahead and get them decked to insure a proper fit.. other than that sounds like you got things under control with the egr delete and the studs. if you get a programmer dont screw around just get an sct with either innovatives or cales tunes.. good luck just checkin you are gonna stay with the 03 turbo right>??

best bang for your buck is the head studs and egr delete kit.

The ICP on an 03 motor is located at the back of the engine under the turbo; on an 05 it is in the RH valve cover. The intake manifolds are different. The turbos and pedestals are different. The EGR coolers are different, as well as the up-pipes. FICM bracket is different, HPOP cover is different, HPOP is different, Branch tubes, oil rails, and injectors are all different. I'm sure that there's some things I'm forgetting.

I have never seen an 03 EGR cooler fail. The sticker on the motor in the truck, says 2003 on the valve cover?
