turbo timer

I run a Turbo Temp monitor and have it set for 400 degrees with a thermocouple located in the manifold. If you have the thermocouple mounted after the turbo you could get away with 350 degrees. I don't care for timers because allot of the time you don't need to idle the truck for a set amount of time, depends how hard you were just running the truck.
I see blasts of 1300 - 1400 when I'm standing on the skinny pedal.....but I don't keep it there too long.

i agree I would set the alarm to go off at 1300 or slightly before because once you see the alarm you could already be close to another 100deg hotter and if your really concerned about your shut off egt I just watch the temp and when it cool to 400 or less i shut it off it only takes a couple min best thing to do is take it easy before you stop to shut it off and you will never have to worry about it
