Default Question On EGR Delete On A 2003 Ford 6.0

one of the pickups we use at ranger boats was taken to the shop and was told both of the egr coolers was bad and the oil cooler.. they asked me if the egr delet would bypass the egr cooler or if they needed to replace the cooler. the truck is all stock. it pulls a flat deck haul trialer with two ranger boats on it. if the egr delet will solve the problem of the egr cooler then would ther be any issues that they would have to worry about. like with the dot beause it goes in all the states around arkansas.

thanks in advance for any help

for the 03 - 04 6.0 they run a different up pipe stock than the 05-07 6.0 does. the 03-04 block off is just a $ 30 ovalplate that goes into the stock uppipe and blocks off the exhaust flow to the egr. however with the 05-07 models they make 2 different uppipes you can choose from to bypass the egr system and replace the stock uppipe comletely... but i have heard from people that the best thing to do is to just completely get rid of the egr not just bypass it.. as far *** the emissions in different states go you should be fine as long as they dont do an emissions test on you everywhere you go

Completed a full egr cooler delete. Kit from Gillett Diesel is great! More power and better fuel mileage but I did get a code indicating low EGR flow. I know this is a common problem with an EGR cooler delete. Any advice on removing the code permanently? I clear it and it comes back. Running a 5 inch exhaust, Green cold air intake and Bully Dog Triple dog programmer. Thanks to everyone that makes this such a great site, you helped me greatly make the decision to delete!

Default Truck blowing white smoke

Ok, from what i've read looks like EGR cooler is going out...and also read a few threads about folks talking about this thing will go bad again after a new replacement. I would like to completely delete the egr. What kind of problems will i encounter after it's removed?? and what type of full delete block off kit should i buy.

I need a little education on this EGR.

Using an SCT with a custom tune to remove EGR operation will prevent the code from popping up.

Default egr delete

Purchase Egr delete kit and new oil cooler from dfuser.com. Kit comes with all gaskets, o-rings, hardware needed. If you are going to all the trouble to remove intake manifold, might as well replace cooler as it can be contaminated. Truck will run better than new. Might think about a coolant filter kit, though it will not be as important with the egr cooler removed and new oil cooler. Install a new screen under oil cooler, not included in kit.
Good luck

You can get oil cooler rebuild kits too. FCDP sells them.
