New OIl cooler hight deltas?
Hey everyone,
I recently replaced my oil cooler. My delta's were max 15 deg apart. ECT = 186-190, EOT = 200-208. Oil cooler gasket was a green doorman and was falling apart. I pulled the cooler, flushed the oil & coolant, then replaced oil and coolant and such. I purchased a new oil cooler from SWAG, new "improved" OEM cooler and it did have the proper gasket, blue OEM gasket.
After I installed the new oil cooler, new oil, new cat EC1 coolant, my deltas are WORSE! I"m getting my ECT reading 186ish, my EOT once I drive...220! 36 delta on average.
I first thought the problem was Torque pro RT or my ELM 327. I had uninstalled and then installed my program on my phone, and my old phone. No changes in my readings with either phone or adapters..
I drove my truck to work, used our Thermo camera on the truck & was getting readings of about 180 where the EOT sensor sits. I thought, it's gota be a sensor. NOPE! Changed my EOT sensor and no changes to my readings regarding my delta's???
I have an accurate diesel back flush kit mounted on the oil cooler and back flushed the cooler. No changes to my deltas! I did a coolant flush with VC9, no change either! I am wondering if having the back flush adapter plate is causing my high deltas as the only thing different on now is
New Oil Cooler, Cat "test pipe".
I replaced my water pump last year and radiator so they are brand new.
Lower radiator hose is cool, upper is warm to hot. Touching the oil filter housing is hot. Highest reading with our TIC was 187, I did get 287 on the hot side of the turbo, but that is to be expected.
As of now.....II have no clue of how to fix, or attempt to fix this headache? Delta's are reading consistently 186 ECT, 220 EOT so about 36 deg delta,
What gives???
