Default 03 6.0 psd no start white smoke smells like fuel

Hello maybe this has been previously talked about, I'm new to the forums so here goes . My buddys 03 PSD excursion was running poorly, I looked at it with my solus pro scanner. #2 injector is showing 30%, so I put in an injector from ford, and had my ficm upgraded, also installed an stc x4 tuner. No custom tunes. when I change tunes it cranks forever with no start. I unhooked the batteries over night and hooked up the battery charger, starts and runs just fine lots of power. I let it sit a week to install air bags air comp and air tank, now it cranks over good with 47.00 volts at the ficm. while cranking it feels like 1 or 2 cylinders are firing but no start, and I'm getting a lot of white smoke that smells like fuel. The excursion has 176,000 miles egr delete, new hpop that's about it for mods. Any ideas or tips would be great. I am 90% familiar with how the HEUI works, but I am no expert

Any codes after installing #2 injector?
What torque did you get to on the injector hold down?
When was the torque wrench last calibrated?
Did you clean out and blow out the hold down bolt hole before torquing?
Did you clean the injector bore and cup w/ a brush before installing the new injector?

Even though it is something pretty straightforward, many people miss it .... did you remove the old copper washer and install a new one?

Well, I switched the glow plug control module with one from my other truck and it starts and runs great. Now after you run it and let it sit for 30 min or so and turn the key to the on position there is no injector buzz and when you try to start it all it does is crank. But if you let it sit all night it fires right up in the am. Lol now I'm really lost. I am going to try and see if I have a high psi oil leak and check my ice, after that I don't know what to look for. What do you guys think?
