Default Exhaust size

Hello everyone. I have a few questions regarding my 6.0. Exhaust 4 inch vs 5 inch? I don't want a truck that is so loud that the family hates going on trips if ya know what I mean Also, where to find a good priced oil cooler back flush kit?

I have a 2003 F350 6.0. I purchased my truck 4 years ago and I love my truck! I did the bullet proof kit, new oil cooler, coolant filtration kit, FICM repair via ED with the atlas tune, blue spring kit, and EGR delete and I filled my coolant with Caterpillar EC1 & distilled water.

I had a IPR issue and noticed that there was some sediment on the IPR, so I am going to do the VC9 flush and I need a good place to find a good priced oil coolant back flush kit. Where can I find one???

I noticed from towing through the passes last week that my truck was getting kind of hot. I think it's time for me to upgrade the stock exhaust to drop my temps while towing our 5th wheel up the passes. I'm not sure which exhaust system & size will work best for my setup. 4 inch or 5 inch is my main concern. I'm not looking to get tons of HP, although more power is always better My main goal is dropping my temps down while towing and having an exhaust system that is not too loud for the family on long trips.

Thank you guys for the help!!!

From everything I've read, 3 1/2 inch down pipe into 4 inch exhaust is the way to go for decreased temps and power. I guess the 3 1/2 inch down pipe keeps the lag away and sufficient for plenty of power. I"m not after a LOUD truck, that's for sure! That would suck on long trips pulling the 5th wheel! I will most likely omit the cat for the purpose of keeping my EGTs down and the cost of a new 4 inch cat is quite expensive.

3.5" is stock dp size so not much to be gained by sticking with 3.5" dp to 4" catback. Try to find a 4" dp. Starts to get a bit tight to work on with the 4" pipe but youll run cooler and you dont realistically need any bigger than a 4" pipe for most power upgrades untill you start making over 600hp.
