Default oil in pipe

Hi...i have an early 04 6.0 f350...146,000miles... i was changing the positive battery cable (previous one broke... big PITA)... anyways...i took off the big tube,pipe..thing that goes from turbo to intercooler (to make some room)...i noticed oil in the tube.... is this normal?... Also...it seems someone used RTV(orange) on the tube to boot...is that normal?..... Thanks

Crank Case Vent (CCV) mod required.
