Hello, I got a 2004 with 210k miles and everything seems to be working as it should. except it cranks long (up to 2 seconds) and sometimes turns over hard when it is hot. When it is cold, it fires right up and turns over smooth. Been doing that ever since I filled it up Sunday. haven't put any fuel additives is for a couple fill ups so I suppose my next I should give that a try to see if that will help.

Anyone know why a truck would do that?

 

my guess is you have a high pressure oil issue just starting. you have a hpop starting to go bad or an o-ring starting to fail.

 

If you normally run additives you may be seeing the difference. .
