They are solid trucks. Dodge, Ford, Chev, they all have their own issues. I had two Powerstrokes, and they worked decent for me. Lately I've been real happy with my Cummins, but I looked hard at Duramax before I bought my Dodge.

Have several friends who have em, with mixed results. Id say 3/4 of em have been relatively trouble free, small stuff like hard coldt starts, etc. about a quarter w/one turbo or set of injectors that went south. One has had one lemon lawed, and another has had 2 of em lemon lawed. They run pretty darn good empty, and again mixed results w/towing. Most like em, some have had trouble. 7.3 was a pretty dang good motor too. Im a Cummins man myself though, will never buy anything else.

Responses will depend on what kind of experiences ones self or peers have had with them. I have read dozens of horror stories about them but the only person I know that has one loves his. I would buy a 7.3 if I was in the market for a ford as I have also already read about some ford guys unhappy with the 6.4. I guess I am glad I am a GM man.

Dad's 05 6.0 is a good engine in a great truck, i enjoy riding in it with him, though any day of the week prefer driving either of my CTDs, granted they dont have as much power, its just more of a personal thing i suppose.....

Buddy of mine had his fuel pump go out in his 05 6.0 with something like 25k miles on it though. As I said before, ok/good engine in a great truck. I have heard numerous Ford guys in person and on forums say how good the 7.3 was though.

I have always liked Ford trucks better, but the Cummins is what sold me. So I went Dodge.

If you buy a used 6.0, ask the dealer to print out an OASIS report and that will show each and every trip to the dealer for warranty work - if there is any. If you buy new, right now they are discounting them big time to make room for the 08 6.4 so you can save tons of $$$.
I have had mine now for 65k miles and it still runs like a raped date!
