6.0

I think it is just luck of the draw with the 6.0's. I have a buddy that says theyhave been through 4 at work, all with several new turbos and injectors and other buddies who drive them without problems at all. It all boils down to monday trucks being built on hangovers, and Friday who wants to be at work? I say if possible shoot for a truck built on wedsday

well i'll be the first to admit i was an I-6 snob but all you boys brave enough to buy the 8-cyl's have convinced me to rethink my stance. i was always hardest on the fords but now i think i'd buy one again. (i used to be a die hard ford guy about 12 years ago) seems the 6.0 turned out to be an ok motor in the end afterall. i can say my old man has had 0 problems with his '05 f-350 so far. i still don't think they're too fun to work on from the looks of things though but i guess it's something you get used to.

6.0's from 03 until early 06 have a tendancy to stretch head bolts thus leading to coolant puking. The fis is to get head studs and not worry after that. Get it to puke in the first 100,000 and all you have to do is pay for the studs and the warranty deductible.
Mid 06 the Job 2 engines came out. Different style heads and larger head bolts. Seems that so far the Job 2 Engines have been holding up better.
I love my 04. I have had several minor things here and there, (EGR Valves, ICP sensors, EBP Sensor and a VG sensor on my turbo). Earlier this year, my truck's head bolts finally gave up. I now have head studs and I plan on keeping this truck around for another 10 years or so.
This truck was my first diesel ever. Since then you can see my signature to know that I am now a Diesel guy. 4 vehicles owned, 3 are diesel.

I have an 07 f250, I love the truck, so far the only problem Ive had is with an FS MP8 chip, it turned m cel on. I have done a few other things like AFE cold air, and Bullydog PMT. I read the forums to learn what to look for. And most are very helpful, what I dont find helpful is all the Dodge and GM guys knocking Ford. If you dont like the PS dont buy one. Im sure in the GM and Dodge forums there are some diehard Ford fans that knock GM and Dodge. I think Dodge has the best engine (Cummins), Chevy has a great transmission (Allison) But in my opinion, Dodge trucks are poorly assembled. GM duramax has its own problems, Ford PS is not the best design, but it works, I would rather have seen Navistar make an inline six. But they didnt. I like my crew cab, the fit and finish of Ford trucks, I'm not the fastest truck, I dont need to blow smoke, I need to pull overloaded livestock trailers and hay wagons, and I need to see some decent fuel economy. And I need a truck that will hold together for 8-10 years. Ford has done that for me, I still have and drive my dads '67 F100.

the only complaint i have with my truck is getting a 6sp instead of an auto headstuds, egr delete, and sct tuned by eric and the 6.0 is no a CR so yes its gonna be harder to get huge hp#'s but it is possible. if the 6.0 was a CR there would be a whole different light on this subject

ya because the DURAMAX and ALLISON have never had any problems. lets not even get into the weakest front end on the market or needing a 6" lift to run 35's

Responses will depend on what kind of experiences ones self or peers have had with them. I have read dozens of horror stories about them but the only person I know that has one loves his. I would buy a 7.3 if I was in the market for a ford as I have also already read about some ford guys unhappy with the 6.4. I guess I am glad I am a GM man.
