Default Best oil for oil change?

I have a 2003 F 350 6 liter. I recently orderd my motorcraft filters from dieselfiltersonline.com in addition to my transmission filters.

Now, which oil is best for the Ford 6 liters? I know that using the correct oil and fuel filters are critical. That being said, which oil is best to run? I know that the engine oil also has some impact on the injectors so I want to make sure I use the right engine oil....or the best for my 6 liter.

Thank you for the help!

I run Rotella T-6. Will be doing a change in 2,000 miles and will send in a sample to get it checked.

How much can you afford?? Injectors or oil changes??

I say this as I ran conventional oil on my new truck till I broke 20k. I have used synthetics to this day with a current 263k on my original injectors with a oil by-pass filter kit. No problems with starts or running everyday. I have never used any sort of oil additives.

What about Amsoil or Royal purple? I normally use either of these two on my hot-rods because they are typically best for conventional engines.

Default Oil

My 2004 f250 6 liter has lived its entire life on Rotella. Because your fluids maintenance is vital for the life of your diesel engine, Not sure if i would run synthetic in my diesel. Not saying you shouldent I recently has to get in to the hpop. When i got down there i could see the cam and gears. Absolutely no scoring at all on cam lobes. the inside of the engine has no sludge or grime biuldup at all!! I was really surprised because the engine has 264,000 miles on it.. most of them are highway heavy hauling miles. I do wonder about different oil types and the pros and cons of each also Every video and article i read and see always end up saying that being true to the oil change interval is key to keeping a happy truck

Hope this helps a little!

I run t-6. I just sent an oil sample in on Monday to cat and I am waiting to hear back. The oil had 3,502 miles on it (99% was hauling boat or camper) I will post results when I get them... Should be tomorrow. I always changed my oil at 3k when I was using delo... I extended it 500 miles for the synthetic.

Both are not on my list. I tried Amzoil to end up with REALLY crappy cold starts. RP is worse than crap for this motor. The 6.0 is a monster on shearing any oil down to 30w in no time.

As I stated 263k on the factory installed injectors. I know this may be hard to believe but it's all about quality oil, good filtering and regular intervals not hyped up products based on pyramid schemes.

I have used/tried just about all reasonably priced synthetic diesel oils out there.
