I have heard some not so good things and some good things about them. i think its all about preference. If your worried about them i would throw some studs at it then. or just dont run it on max all the time.

Don't use the Bully if you plan on other mods down the road.

I have a Bully Dog Triple Dog downloader.
I opted to switch to the SCT tuner and have had must better results overall.
If you go with SCT and you find a good tuner (person who writes your custom tunes), you will be happier in the end...I was.

I have an SCT with custom tunes.
I do not have studs.
When I had the custom tunes built for me the person who did it asked me whether I had studs...he then sent me an appropriate tune...not too aggressive.
I have 110,000 miles on the vehicle and I've used the tune with a PowerMax turbo for over 40,000 miles without a problem. So, there's no reason to go get studs, just because your tuning it....just be smart about it.

Studs have been sitting on my workbench for 75,000 miles When I need them, I will install them...not before.
