Default SCT XCAL3

I'm trying to talk my buddy into getting the SCT XCAL3 for his 2006 6.0L Ford F250 Lariat. Are there any problems that arise from running one of these? He has a Triple Dog now and I don't want to convince him to get this and have something happen to his truck. Thanks for any info fellows.

So he shouldn't have to worry about head gaskets or anything?

Anything could happen but as long as he keeps an eye on his egt's he should be fine.

So as long as he keeps the EGTs down the HG should be alright? How about too much boost. I don't know enough about the 6.0's.

Here is the sad but true part of owning a 6.0. I like them a lot so lets get that on the table. But they will blow head gaskets "Eventually" and I say that loosely if they are worked on a normal basis in the stock setting. It is a bad fact of life with a 6.0. Head studs are a BIG UPGRADE for the 6.0. So using a tuner only speeds up the effects. I wouldnt be affraid one bit to use a tuner on a 6.0 as long as it was of an SCT variety.
