Default what do you think of this truck?

I found a 2004.5 f250 cclb for sale with blown headgaskets, the owner drained all of the fluids out of it and the motor has been sitting like that for a little while so my guess is that motor is unusable now because of rust and seizing up but he is including another motor with the truck that has 125k miles on it but that motor has blown HG as well.

The body and paint are the truck are in spectacular shape which seems kind of hard to find with older psd's

My plans for the truck is to buy a sinister diesel bulletproof kit (havent decided which one yet) a sct tuner, exhaust, and a intake for the truck. what else should I get?

The guy and i agreed to $6900 and he is delivering it to my house. I have a $9500 budget (to get the truck running not counting tuner, exhaust, and intake) do you guys think this is doable and a good idea?

I will be doing all of the work myself I have a lift to lift the body off of the truck and I have the tools and ability to complete the job, also my cousin is a certified psd mechanic so he is there for help do you guys think my budget is doable? And does this sound like a good idea to you guys?

I am thinking about this kit from sinister MBRP Exhausts for 6.0 Powerstroke Stage 2 |MKM

But I was told stay away from black diamond HG so I would buys oem HG's

Im no expert and just got into my first diesel a 6.0 a week ago myself but that seems a lot for a non running truck, I paid 3,500 for mine knowing the egr cooler was about to go which it did 4-5 days later and went ahead and did the oil cooler as well. It had water in fuel message too and a new fuel, water sperator plug and some cleaing got rid of that issue too. but then again mine is only a single cab and 2wd and was a service truck with 198,000 miles, but is driving great now! Good luck but seems you could pay less for a running 6.0 or around the same. Good luck regardless!

$2500 doesn't leave much room if the heads are toast. IF you were a lucky duck you could get it all done with your cousin.

I tried to talk him down n that is as low as he would go, he said he could sell the spare motor for $2k alone

$6900 for a clean bodied truck and a spare motor seems decent to me.

I told the guy I am going to have to pass, the chance of it costing me more then $2500 to fix the motor is enough to scare me since I am currently have school payments to make
