so was adding power supply to pigtail for my camper and noticed that the positive cable on the drivers side battery was loose. Figured ahhaaa! cleaned both battery's terminals and loaded on camper and drove the hill. no issues on going over, thought well thats it, the loose battery connection was causing an issue. Then turned around and came back and guess what, it did it again but not as bad as before and it really seemed like the truck was running better. Took truck in to Rainer Auto in my town. he is supposed to be a good diesel mech. he had it for a day and called me back and asked about my egr. had it ever gone out before, yes, had i ever cleaned it since, yes,. he said there were two egr codes popping up. I said it might be because i had unplugged my egr to see if it threw a check engine light, in prep for the delete. he said, hmmm, that he did not think the unplugging would cause the codes thrown, and he really hated throwing parts at a truck, but the noises i was describing and the powere issue really pointed to the egr. he performed the injector tests and they all were fine. so, 500 bucks later ill see if the issue is fixed. and if it is, im ordering my delete and putting it on and selling the egr on ebay! will post with update as soon as i have the time to run ovr the hill again.

 

Lucky you're not in CA. I pulled the connection as well and the OBD threw several egr codes, cleared them and they did not come back My rebuilt egr valve should arrive today( $120+ online) my #5 injector is showing a contribution balance code p0275I am hoping an overdose of injector cleaner and a hard run will clean it out, the truck was sitting for 8 months while I underwent Chemo and then cared for my dying brother... will post an update as well
