Simple Question
Sorry about this but I am getting ready to change the oil in my 6.0. I have read on here about the oil additives to clean the system before changing the oil and was looking for the info but can't seem to find it. I thought it was called RevEx or something like that. So any info would be great. The truck is at 97K and am getting ready to go back across the country again and want to make sure I have good clean oil and system for the 6K trip. Any info would be great and since I live in a small town that don't have crap for diesels if you can ship I will pay for it and give you an account to ship on if it is not available here. And if any of you are in my area any time feel free to stop by for a home brew and some fun shooting.

I don't know about the additives to clean the system but just changed my oil yesterday and put RevX in for first time and man what a difference. I had three injectors that where going out. Had the white smoke on morning start, smell of raw fuel and skip like a son of a gun for the first 2 or 3 miles. Not know. RevX worked over night. Going to run this oil change and one more to see if injectors still need replacing. Not sure if this will help you or not but thought it was worth mentioning.

I think you are referring to Hot Shot Secret. I used it to clean residue which creates " stiction" on your injectors. I Would recommend this product as it helped my old injectors last a little longer. After about 3000 miles I drained oil and refilled with my usual Rotella T 5 w40 synthetic blend. This time I added 2 bottles of rev x also. Seems to be good so far! I have original injectors with 190000 miles. . I know someday I will have to replace and will do the bulletproofing mentioned on this site when it gets to that point and keep it for another 200000. . . . . ;-)

Just an fyi REVX is not a permanant solution to injectors going bad but it does give them a little longer life expectancy just by putting those adatives in doesnt mean you can just sweek the issue under the rug and forget about it but it doesnt hurt to run it anyway if your pocketbook allows
