Question Looking For Info

Got to replace my injectors. Just wandering if OEM would be way to go or rebuild? While doing this going to put EGR delete in, new oil cooler and have intake manifold cleaned out. From what I have read looks like I am going to have to purchase a SCT programmer to get CEL to go out after EGR delete is done. I am interested in installing some gauges so that I can keep a eye on everything just do not know what gauges to get. Truck currently has stock gauges in dash and they dont give me any idea of actual temps on anything. Not wanting to go racing with truck just get a little more perfomance out of it. Using Rev-X for first time this oil change. Use truck to work out of pulling a 10' enclosed trailer with A/V equipment and tools. Appreciate any info I can get.

the safest injectors to get are the ones from Ford, they have a great warranty and have ben updated with new spool valves that eliminate the stiction issues that the original ones had. As for guages I know alot of guys like the issopro guages but others like the Edge insight/i think its called/ . An SCT will be a good addition to your ride just make sure you get the custom tunes from a good tuner, I know alot use Innovative Diesel for tunes. Make sure you install a coolant filter or you will be changing that oil cooler again.

How hard is it to perform these upgrades myself? I have built several motors (gasser's) I most likely have all the tools I need and I am willing to perform these upgrades myself. I have two different prices from two different shops the only thing is neither one of them will most likely treat my baby like I would Other question on injectors - is it best to get stock injectors or go up one size

Forr what you are planning stock injector size would be the best. you should be able to do this in a weekend, I would imagine a shop would charge clost to 5k to do this work.

Where would be a good place to purchase the EGR delete and oil cooler? Also would it do any good to replace the stock exhaust sytem with a aftermarket like a 5" straight system? The exhaust question is more curious than anything

For the oil cooler I would look at Tousley Ford parts online, they seem to have the best prices. There are several sponsors on here you can get the EGR delete from as well as ebay. A 4" exhaust is all that is really needed, the 5" is nice but you will get more vibration noises from it as it will hit the body in places. getting rid of the cat will help on mileage..

Found a complete kit on eBay. It included the egr delete, oil cooler, gaskets and a sct flash programmer. The kit was about 700 or 800. Sound pretty good? Can't remember who put kit together

I think you would be much better off getting the SCT from one of the better know tuners like Innovative, the custom tunes are much better and safer then the tunes sct has written.
