Default 2005 6oh problems.

So I bought a 6 liter with 142,000 miles on it. Before I bought it the HPOP was replaced, a few injectors, Dummy plugs and a few other items. Since I have had it I did an EGR delete, new oil cooler, stage 2 intake, turbo back exhaust, replaced the branch tube, and putting another HPOP in.

The original issue is the truck would not start cold or hot, you would have to sit and crank on it and it was slowly turn over till it started. I did all of the work on it and now it is not starting once the truck is warmed up. I put the truck on a diagnogstic tool.

When you first turn the key the oil pressure was too low. When the truck finally caught and started the oil pressure just to over 1000psi which is twice the recommended oil pressure. Once the truck is running everything checks out fine.

If anybody has any clue what is going on with this truck help me out.

Just because its fresh on my mind what kind of fuel pressure? When you say low oil pressure what do you mean 500psi while cranking or lower?

I will have to check the numbers again they arent fresh on my mind. The only numbers I remembered was the oil pressure would go from nothing to 1000psi and then start operating normal. We have basically rebuilt this thing and still wont hot start. Could it be an electrical issue like the computer is confused??

Is that ICP actual or desired? Sometimes desired will just shoot up.

I'd recommend pulling the IPR valve and inspecting it, it could be sticking. Especially if the HPOP has been replaced twice and that was never touched. It seems like clock work, when the HPOP is replaced it always seems to destroy the IPR shortly after (must just be pushing left over debris out).

You can hook a scanner up and monitor ICP actual, ICP desired, and IPR duty cycle and see what's going on, or just pull the IPR and see what the screen looks like.

Awesome, the ICP actual was the high one. We haven't even checked the IPR valve. This truck is driving me nuts...

Try unplugging the ICP sensor and starting it up next time it does this too. If it fires up easily, the ICP sensor is bad. Though, not as common on the 05+ trucks being in the valve cover now.

My truck no longer even cranks. Tonight while I was out and about turned the truck off and went into the store. Tried and crank the truck 3 times for approximately 10-20 seconds. On the fourth attempt the truck sounded as if the crank speed slowed drastically. On the fifth attempt it only made 3 slow cranks and then nothing. We attempted to jump it thinking it was the battery and nothing happened. We put the truck in neutral and and pushed it back about 5 feet. When it was pushed back it sounded as if the starter was turning but nothing was happening and when the engine caught it went back to the slow crank.

Could be the starter is shot. Check the wiring going down to the starter too and see if there is any corrosion on the wires. My buddy just went through this same thing with very slow cranking and his red wire going down to the starter was corroded beyond belief. Replaced it and it cranked fine right after.

This is a great opportunity to use a voltage drop test!

Does anybody on here know the tools needed, where to buy them, and how to perform a high pressure oil system test in the driveway. I can borrow the air hose fitting that plugs into the where the ICP goes. I am looking to save money becuase this truck is draining me.

Also my FICM is crapping out on me... actually the only reason it wasn't stolen a few weeks back. Should I bandage it to get by on a low budget or replace and upgrade the FICM.
